Belated Nice
It’s our last day in Nice (this place is pronounced as ‘niece’ and is at the southern of France) and we just came back from travelling to Ville Franche, Monaco and Italy (yes I went to Italy for lunch) but now I’m at the police station. Bad ass eh? Yeah I got into a fight and yeah things got messy ;)
Ok long story let’s just start from Nice. Nice is a nice place if you pardon the pun haha. We had a pun party on fb just with this, but it really is a nice place! The sun is up and would probably be like 35 degrees Celsius but it feels like 21degrees Celsius I KNOW RIGHT SHIOK JIPUA!!! And the place is really crowded and touristy yet I don’t really mind. It’s like crowded and touristy but somehow u just zoom it out as random noise. And the place doesn’t lose its taste. I still can smell and taste it’s originality in the air idk why. Or maybe I’m just biased heh. So anw, it’s beachy (no not bitchy) with an awesome wind. (this was how I imagined troyes, not the hellish 3 to 13 degrees they put us through for the first 2.5 weeks. Really felt like summer sia. The sun was shining like shit but I felt like I was in an aircon room.
AND they have world famous icecream called finnochio (idek if I spelt it right. But it’s just pinochio that puppet spelt with an ‘f’ in front) and their beaches (which are not sandy but pebbly. Quite interesting. Like every pebble is the size of my palm that type haha talk about a massage when we went to sunbathe) and the icecream is just amazing. I cant even explain. I have never in my life seen so many flavours before. Check out the photos on fb if u wna haha.
I think it was a beautiful mistake because we got off the bus at the wrong stop (overshot) and found one of the main branches of the icecream place! Omg their tiramisu and baileys are -inserts emoji with hearts as eyes(it's so funny how emoji reflects us and doesnt at the same time. I mean, how is that face even physically possible?!)- and omg i suddenly remembered. We were almost picked up. Before you start getting excited, no. What i am about to explain is a disgusting incident that i never in my life want to happen again. Hopefully after i write about it then i will forget about it.
Ok so for the whole time of france, we have all met very friendly people. Idk why but sometimes, as asians, we become the tourist attraction. At disneyland paris there was this family of tourists who asked to take a photo with us. At first i thought they wanted us to help them take a family photo until they said that they wanted us to be in the photo then we "OHH." So anw, back to the story. Wanyan and i were trying each other's icecream while tabby was walking in front. Then apparently this old chubby and friendly-looking old french dood talked to her, like said hi and bon appetit. Just then we caught up. Then that old man (old as in in his 50s i think) saw that there were 3 of us right, he stopped and talked to us. Then i realised there were 3 other guys with him. His english was damn bad so we were smiling smiling and took us awhile to figure out what he was talking about. Omg the shock when it dawned upon me... Apparently he was trying to find 3 dates for this 3 other male tourists that he was with. Like 3 30-40 year-old spanish or dk what type of dudes!!! He was like "three, three" on each of his hands then he linked linked the hands together omg i cant believe we got asked if we wanted to be prostitutes. I cant even believe it omg. And that wanyan still didnt know what was going on until we explained to her later on ohgod.-forehead palm- Eww.. Ok nvm i will forget it. I will. And then tabby and wanyan blame it on me that we kenna picked up by the angmohs cos i've been very lucky with making new friends. Speaking of which, maybe i dhould have gotten the email or something. Now i'm just waiting for him to be free to email me. I WANT this email buddy. is it too hard to ask for?
And then we had dinner on the first day at one of this salad places thatwas similar to the lawn, just 10times more expensive! I am not even kidding haha. After eating in france i've come to realise that food in singapore is effing cheap. I'm sorry if i ever complained it was expensiveeee! Anw the lawn yes. I NEED TO GO THERE! With nicole or whoever who likes to eat greens. Go a few times also can! Omg craving craving. And laksa and bakchormee omgggg. And i keep spending here omg. It's like i NEED every single thing hahahah. Have been looking for an ipad cover like my current one but different pattern, but there doesnt seem to be any covers that can rotate and stand like mine :/
And i really must start to decorate my room. I have had so many plans but i havent started on any of them sia! #determined. I think one side of my room will be gardenish vintage or vintagey garden and the other wall will be post-modern design. (HAHAH actually i dont even know what post-modern refers to. I'm just feeling the word. Just feeling it ;))
Ohya back to Nice yea. We went to the flower market in the morning (gorgeous), with a fruit and vegetables market at the end (even more awesome) and that street changes to a flea market after lunch! saw really cute animals toys thingies that i should have bought more :/ i hate regrets haha
and we shopped and sunbathed and had a picnic by the beach!!!! so many topless girls ;) happy germaine and happy boys on the beach HAHAHAHAHA (people actually really take me seriously when i get excited about attractive girls. yes i'm excited but not in THAT way!) omg the picnicccc we had so much chicken! HAPPY HAPPYYYY and then we sunbathed and went for icecream round 2 DINGDINGDING!
i have a new favourite drink now. and it is the baileys. i liked it before but it didnt really hit me hahahah. dont worry, favourite cocktail is still longisland. i'm a sucha fan of dairy products that even the drinks are dairy omg i cant stand myself haha but sometimes i need a little fruit in my life HAHA this is where longisland and clear koi/gongchas come in.
we tried a few different type of alcohol just because it was so cheap. dont worry, we locked ourselves in the room and it was only 3 girls ;) the hotel was awesome. THE BEST RECEPTIONIST EVER. he made an effort to remember every single guest's name (wts who the hell does that) and i actually feel like he is genuinely concern about us. it's a small but cozy place. and value for money considering how accommodation can be quite pricey in nice i've heard. but his english is really very fluent for a french, and he will direct you to many different places wherever you want. just ask him, be it food, or flowermarket, icecream, and he will have suggestions. u dont really need to do much prior research. and his instructions are very clear as well (this is going on trip advisor). wanyan lost her phone and he was ohso helpful in calling whoever he could just to help! as well, as directign us to the police station to make a report.
yea so that was how the police station came about.
it was really tiring on our last day in Nice. we travelled to a small place called Ville Franche but honestly i think it's the prettiest place ever. the countryside colourful peaceful seaport that is. and then we went to Monaco which was honestly a disappointment. idk if it's cos there was so much construction going on, it was sunday and nothing was happening (this is a french thing.) or just cos everything was too exp (we were too poor) but honestly, besides the nice bakery we visited, monaco seemed to me as the summation of Hongkong and Genting... and then we took a train to italy for lunch. YES TAKE THAT WE WENT TO ITALY FOR LUNCH! and there was this huge festival going on omg i was so excited. there was a parade, a motorbike parade (guys on them were effing hot. i only heard the voice of one, not even seen the faces and i'm sold), a flower competition, a marching band competition and a baton twirling competition (the girls are damn cute). after that we went back to nice and wanyan lost her phone :(
when we went back the plane landed in lyon for awhile due to bad weather conditions and a traffic jam at cdg. wasted 2 hours of our time... and thne we dropped by paris cos didnt get to do my vintage shopping the first time we were there. but we didnt get a map for the vintage place and still didnt find it... ohwell just treat it as saving money?
and then we had to walk back from troyes to the town centre cos we missed the last bus while looking for the busstop. 1hour trudge... ohwell just treat it as exercise?
thus in short, i've been to troyes, paris, nice, monaco, italy and lyon for the weekend ;)
but for now, my finals are tomorrow.
